"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences. " Gordon B. LUCKY DAY

A few days ago Mark and Cole took a little road trip down to Arizona to cheer on Boise State during the Fiesta Bowl. It was a much anticipated trip. On their way there they stopped at the Hoover Dam...

A few hours before the game was to start I talked to Grampy Cooper about how things were going. He said that today was their "lucky day." Earlier they had tried to find a parking spot but all the lots close to the stadium were sold out in advance for $30-$40. It was looking like they were going to have to walk a mile or so to get to the stadium. Then they drove down a residential street across from the stadium and one of the neighbors happened to be out in their yard. Mark asked him if he could park in front of his house for $20. The guy told him he would park on the street and Mark could pull his car into their driveway. How cool is that?
Then the four of them walked into the stadium and tried to purchase tickets to the party. But all the tickets were sold out. I guess you needed to purchase the tickets ahead of time. Only a certain number of people were allowed into the party.

After seeing this picture I understood why only a certain number were allowed in...

While they were standing around talking about what they were going to do a guy came up to them and asked them if they wanted 4 tickets. The men just looked at each other and smiled. Of course they wanted the tickets.

Grampy said that since good luck always comes in a group of three he predicted that the "3rd" good luck event of the day would be Boise State winning over the favored TCU.
Hmmmm....?????

Here they are playing an armchair quarterback game...

The stands were packed and the game was a blast!

In the end Boise won 17-10. I guess Grampy was right. It really was their "LUCKY DAY!"

On the road trip home they stopped along the Colorado River. Check out how beautiful it is...

They capped off their road trip with a scenic tour of Zions National Park.
