"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences. " Gordon B. Photo 102

For the past couple of weeks I have been taking a photography class and I am just loving it...

This is a picture of my cute teacher, Erin.

Don't you just love her lens? TOTAL ENVY going on here.
I think I did a pretty good job of "backlighting" her too.
Below was part of our assigment for this week...

BACK LIGHTING...

FRONT LIGHTING...

SIDE LIGHTING...

And one just for fun...
This is our neighbor's dog who wouldn't leave us alone while I was trying to shoot pictures of Keri, so I just included her in the photo shoot...

Can't wait for more...

American Cheer Championships

Yesterday Keri had her "American Cheer Championship" competition at the Salt Palace. Mac's competed against teams from Idaho, Nevada, Montana, etc! Keri's team did great! They hit all their stunt groups, and their pyramid was perfect! In the end they took 3rd place. I thought they should have taken 1st. (But that's just bc I'm her Mom.) :)Oh, BTW I didn't take these pictures. It was way too dark in the room and I don't have a good enough lens. Love the vibrant colors though...

Blue Belt Ceremony

Carson has now earned his "Blue Belt" over at Bobby Lawrence Karate! We are so proud of him! He is demonstrating the 3 L's in many areas of his life...
LOYALTY. LONGEVITY. LEARNING.
Good job Carson!

Lizzy's Visit

This past week my sister Lizzy came to visit from Pennsylvania. What a fun time we've had since she's been here. We went and got pedicures, went shopping in Park City, and had Mimi's for breakfast. We also saw the movie, Dear John. What a heartwrencher of a movie. Tomorrow we will celebrate her birthday over at Celeste's house...

I Had No Idea

A couple of weeks ago we went to Parent Teacher Conferences over at the kids' school. While we were walking down the hall Keri pointed out some of her art work that was displayed on the wall. Her 4th grade art teacher thought she had done such a great job that she asked if she could keep her work and display it in the hall. Keri said sure and next thing she knew the art teacher had framed and hung it up in the hall.
I had no idea. I don't remember Keri telling me the story or sharing with me how her teacher had loved her work. She said she told me. ??????
I finally took some pictures of it and wanted to share...

Here's a close up...

Hello? Am I a bad Mother for not knowing?
I love doodling. It was one of my favorite things to do as a little girl. It gets the creative juices flowing.
I love THIS!!! I Had No Idea!!

"Girls Only Weekend" and Flat Elizabeth

Last weekend my Aunt Beth and my Mom came out to Utah to visit me and my sisters. It was so wonderful to see them and spend some quality time together. My Mom will be 60 next month so we spoiled ourselves a little...
We went shopping, got the best pedicures, and went up to the Foundry Grill for an awesome Brunch! I think it is now a tradition...

While my Aunt was here she introduced us to "Flat Elizabeth." Elizabeth is the daughter of my Aunt's best friend. "Flat Elizabeth" was given to my Aunt as an assignment from Elizabeth. Aunt Beth was to take pictures of Flat Elizabeth and document everything she did so that Elizabeth could share with her 2nd grade class in Texas. I'm sure Flat Elizabeth will have some pretty wild stories to tell...
